Dart 18 World Championships 2010 - Weymouth, England

The Dart 18 World Championships to be held over the period 21 - 27 August will be one of the best events ever. The organisation is well advanced with all of the plans for the event now in place.

We are pleased to have some great sponsors who have committed to supporting the event.

Please look at the list of sponsors and their links on the event web-site.

The Venue, Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy, is booked,. The race officer and his team have been selected, the rescue boats and support crews are sorted, the prizes have been ordered. We just need the weather gods to be kind to us now.

Pete Ewing has organised an fantastic social programme with Madonna and Michael Jackson tribute acts to kick off the event. The Big Party night and band on Thursday night, Pete promises, will eclipse anything we have seen at a Dart event before. Don't miss out on this night to remember.

Check out the social diary on the web-site http://www.dart18worlds2010.com/ for details all of the events during the week.

All that is now required is you, the helms crews and boats to take part and make this the most successful and memorable World Championships held in the UK.

Take time to have a look at the event web-site http://www.dart18worlds2010.com/ , flick through each section and look at what is on offer. Download the entry form, fill it in and send it back to Sally Atkinson with your entry fee to ensure you have a place at this not to be missed event. As a bonus early bookers get a prime position for their boat close to the slipways.

So, what does this venue offer?

Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy

Situated on the gateway to Portland, this is the venue for the 2012 Olympic Sailing and the first Olympic venue to be completed. It is now well established, has great facilities, has already run National and International regattas and has an established track record.

Chesil Beach, the gravel/pebble bar between Weymouth and Portland, is close by and is great for walking and exploring. Portland itself is famous for the Portland Stone used in construction of many old properties all over the Southern part of England, and there are rocky shores with paths and tracks to explore.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay check out the accommodation list under the LINKS section of the web-site. This provides a comprehensive listing for all types of facilities.

If you have a camper van then do not forget to book a place in the "Camper Van Park" on site. Reserving a place is essential to ensure you are not disappointed.

Set your compass to Weymouth & Portland for August 21-27, send in your entry, book your accommodation and we will see you there for the Dart 18 event of the year.

Sincerely,

Sally
